Hello Folks!

August 31, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I’m back!!!! Well bloody Sky killed the broadband sooner than anticipated and it’s taken until tonight to get it reconnected in my NEW HOUSE!!!! Still no lead for the digital camera, so there’s no photos to show you, and given that it’s a Friday night I’m off boozing in my new home town of Pudsey shortly. But in the spirit of making my short entry more visually appealing, here’s a library shot of the beautiful church that my bedroom window overlooks – it has church bells and everything!

Let the packing commence!

August 11, 2007 · 1 Comment

The move is still on for 16 August and today we start packing in earnest. John’s folks live in Leeds so we have already taken a few valuable bits and bobs up to get them out of the way. Plus we are doing the moving ourselves, joy – have been doing extra press ups to get my strength up and now the veins protrude on my hands like Madonna’s. Tasty.

The Happy Sisters (aka Blythe dollies) were one of the first valuable items to be taken, so I tucked them all up ready for the move.

Bye bye Happy Sisters

Look at their little faces – I feel like such a bad mum to the poor little Happy Sisters :( They will love their new house though as it has a nice big room for them to play in!

They’re all in the dark now. I hope that they’re not scared :(

Anyway, today we start big packing, dismantling furniture etc. I am getting stressed already as I can’t do anything until some furniture has been dismantled and John is procrastinating. Arggghhhhh!!!! Stop texting your bloody friends, man >:( The veins on my hands are popping out more than ever and I am sure that I can see them pulse! I was going to show you a photo, but they actually look disgusting, so I’ll spare the world that sight.

Hopefully they’ll be under control for my next post, but I’d better go, lest I get accused of procrastinating myself!

Hello Summer

August 6, 2007 · 1 Comment

Hooray, the weather has finally turned a corner and the sun has come out to make me freckly and pink! It’s so lovely after all the crappy floods and stuff round here, and has given me a new lease of life. Seriously, it’s been so dark and gloomy I actually began to think I was getting SAD, only in the wrong season.

Anyway, the inclement weather has played havoc with my garden. Flowers all shot up in sunny April, stopped growing in cooler May and actually rotted away due to the incessant rain in June and July. The same patterm happened to my tub planted veggies. Pepper plant, chilli plant and pumpkin vine all rotted. Faring slightly better, but only just, has been my suagr snap peas and cherry tomatoes, and last night we managed our first harvest.

Garden goodness!

A small haul, but not too bad considering the ’summer’ that we have had. Actually, there were a lot more sugar snap peas than this but they made their way to my belly before the camera could snap them. The toms will be having the same fate late, yum!

I have also added to my burgeoning Blythe family, and treated myself to a gorgeous Gentle River called Connie Plum. I intend to fund her by selling dolly hats and jumpers on Etsy, now that my knitting skills are sufficient. In the meantime, I have made her a little blanket to match her sisters.

Matching blankets!

I’ll also be wrapping them in these when we move so that they are safe and sound. Oh yes, the move is still on but now scehduled for 16th August after some very lenghty negotiations that nearly saw the whole thing go tits up. One final push today and it should all be sorted, but we may have to play our trump card (“you want our house? Do as we say then”). It’s been HORRENDOUS but hopefully the end is in sight. Russell Grant will keep me posted with what’s going to happen, and I’ll pass any info on.

Russell Grant – he’s my rock!

August 1, 2007 · 2 Comments

In these turbulent times that I am experiencing, I really need someone who’s steadying influence and guidance I can rely upon. Yes, I need Russell Grant!

Russell Grant

Honestly, he’s the best. His sage words of wisdom are the only comfort that I have at the moment, and they are scarily accurate without being vague. Yes, I know horoscopes are mumbo jumbo, and I’m using them as a crutch. But to be honest, it was a straight choice between this or crystal meth as my vice of choice, and my bullet-proof vest is at the tailors for alteration.
